What would you do if you lost your shoes at the Korean restaurant in Korea?

What will you do if you lose your shoes at the Korean restaurant in Korea?

In South Korea, there are many Korean style restaurants where you should leave your shoes by the door area to go to a table for food and service.

Usually the system is not a problem but when there are crowded, some bad incidents are happened.

What is the events? LOSING SHOES.

lost shoes

It happened barely. When bad luck hits you, it can be you and your shoes can be disappeared without any clue.

What if your shoes are disappeared at that kind of Korean restaurant?

What will you do? What should you do?

Maybe the owner of the restaurant can say that he has no responsibility for your shoes. Or  there can be the board on the door or on the wall near the counter that says 'Keep your shoes by yourself to prevent loss and stolen'.

And possibly if the owner is kind and you are lucky enough, he will provide you a pair of slipper(slip-on shoes) for free so you can leave the restaurant.

Do you think the slipper is the best happy ending you can have?

I don't think so.

In Korea, there are laws to protect consumers. In this kind of case, there is Commercial Act about hospitality business.

The hospitality business is in the business of making transactions by theaters, hotels, restaurants, or other facilities used by the public. And anyone who engages in this business is called a hospitality service provider.

The Commercial Act regulates the liability of hospitality service providers.

Commercial Act Article 152 (Liability of Hospitality Service Providers)
(1) Unless a hospitality service provider proves that he/she has not been negligent in giving due care in the custody of articles deposited from his/her guests to him/her or his/her employee, the hospitality service provider shall be liable for damage resulting from the loss of or damage to the articles kept in his/her custody.
(2) A hospitality service provider shall be liable for damage for the loss of or damage to portable goods brought into his/her establishments, even if not particularly deposited by the guest, when it is due to the lack of due care of the business entity or any of his/her employees.
(3) No hospitality service provider shall be exonerated from liability under paragraphs (1) and (2), even if he/she has informed that he/she is not liable for the loss of or damage to the portable goods of guests.

Yes, it says the hospitality service providers shall be liable for the loss of or damage to the articles kept in his/her custody.

So when you take off your shoes and put them at the door and go to a table, it is thought that you and the owner of the restaurant make a contract containing that the owner keeps your belongs(shoes).

Even though the owner notices to the customers that no responsibility for loss and stolen, the owner's liability is not waived.

Now you know your right, and you can say to the owner like that
"Please, take your responsibility that is gave by Commercial Act Article 152. And give me back my shoes or show me the money!"

Of course, there is the statute of limitation for period for the liability. The period is 6 months.
Which means you should act for your right in 6 month after the incident.

And this law can be applied on car damage/stolen at parking lot where the owner controls.

Yongkkaseu(Pork cutlet) for lunch at Mapo, Seoul

One of the most serious problem of office workers is to decide what to have for lunch.
For people who are near Mapo subway station, I suggest Yongkkaseu(용까쓰) restaurant.
You can find the Yongkkaseu just in front of the Samsung Plaza.

Anyway Yongkkaseu means dragon(Yong) and kkaseu from Donkkaseu(pork cutlet).

view from inside of Yongkkaseu
You can see Samsung Plaza(삼성프라자)

It has been opened for about over one year here.
And I think this place is a little pricy for lunch but they provide reasonable quality of Japanese style Donkkaseu, therefore it's a good choice sometimes.

Let's look at the menu.

Menu and price
Yongkkaseu Menu & Price

As you can see the photo above, their menu consists single cutlet menu, Udon noodle set menu and Buckwheat(Momil) noodle set menu.

And there is 용까스(Yongkkaseu) menu which has pork and fish cutlets, so you can eat two kinds of a cutlet.

Yongkkaseu menu

There are three sauces: Worcester sauce, mustard sauce and ponzu sauce. You can eat the kkaseu in three difference tastes with these sauces.

Tenderloin and fish

The redish meat is tenderloin kkaseu and the other is fish kkaseu. They are both crispy and a little bit oily. For fish cutlet, there is tartar sauce and it is really good with because it remove oily fish taste.

Daegu Original Hyeonpung Park-soseon Halmaejib Gomtang, Menu & Price

Entrance

Wonjo(Original) Hyeonpung Park-soseon Halmaejib Gomtang is one of the famous Gomtang restaurants in Daegu, South Korea.

The name is quite long, so let us translate it.
Wonjo means first-made(Original), many people use this word:Wonjo for naming things like this and it means there is hardly Wonjo stuff. And Hyeonpung is the name of its location, Park-soseon is the name of the founder. Halmaejib means Grandma's house. So its meaning is kind of original Gomtang made by Park-soseon at Hyeonpung.

Additionally GomTang(GomKuk) is one of the traditional Korean dishes and GomTang is a soup but it is more like beef stock(bone broth) made with some beef parts such as bones, and head.

Interior

The interior is typical Korean style restaurant. Nothing special.

Side

They serves Gomtang and some side dishes. Taste good.

Gomtang2

Actually because Gomtang is common Korean cuishin, it is always good to have.
And it is believed like stamina food. And the meat(beef) in the Gomtang is very smooth and odorless.

Menu & Price

The price is quite expensive. And lunch time, there are so many people so if you don't like to wait the queue, go there before lunch time(usually before 12 o'clock).

Bucheon Newcore, Pizza Mall review, weekday & weekend price info.

I went to the Pizza Mall in NC department store, Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea on the weekend.

Pizza Mall is a Pizza Buffet & Salad Bar running by E-land in South Korea.

First, the price is divided into weekday and weekend.
For Weekday: 9,900 Won
For Weekend: 14,900 Won
(Elementary school student: 7,900 Won, Preschool student: 4,900 Won)

Drinks such as carbonated or coffee are free, and Aid drink(grapefruit, lemon, orange) prices are 2,900 won.

Bucheon Newcore, pizza Mall review, weekday & weekend price info.

In fact, my child is still young, so when I have a meal outside, there is not many choice for us. So I usually go to buffet or salad bar type restaurants. There are many things to choose from, so I think that there is something that my kid can eat.

Pizza Mall

Pizza Mall can taste a variety of pizzas, and there are many things to eat in the salad bar, so you do not have to like pizza.

There were quite many people on the weekend. But it was still possible to enter without waiting.

leftover

The pizza mall is self-service for the plates and leftovers to keep the prices low.
You can organize your own dishes. But if possible, it is better to avoid the place next to the corner where you can see the picture above. People also come and go a lot and do not look good and hygienic. Because it is a place to throw away leftovers.

Pizza

There are pizzas of various kinds to match the name of Pizza Mall. I do not like pizza very much, but it was okay to have other food.

Pizza Mall reviews on honest

In fact, the Pizza Mall seems to have many students and young customers, as the prices are low. And the atmosphere of the restaurant is loud and lively.

The overall quality and taste of the food is moderate. The price is right for its quality.
If you want good food, it would be better to find a restaurant in the a la carte menu here. I think the Pizza Mall is just a place where you can get a variety of food at moderate prices.

So if you are not a pizza mania but you want to have a buffet, I recommend the Ashley restaurant near the Pizza Mall for better food and service.
